Fleet Science Centre San Diego
Hello Friends!
We're officially out of Christmas hibernation and back to finding fun things to do!
We got our booster shot on Thursday and were worried we'd be feeling ill all weekend, but it wasn't too bad. I'd picked a lot of oranges from the botanic gardens that morning so we'd have lots of vitamin C and it was a lovely sunny day and warm weather again after all the rain we had over the Christmas period.

The volunteer car park is filled with free fruit right now!
After getting our shot we went for some healthy smoothies to help us recover (in lieu of anywhere to get milkshakes in the area).

My flavour was called Popeye's Acai
The next morning, I felt a little bad and stayed in bed listening to audio books all morning, but Mitchell actually got up and went to work! He did come home at lunchtime though, and then slept for three hours, so I guess we felt the same, just at different points of the day.
On Saturday we felt ok, but just a bit tired. We made bunny shaped waffles in the waffle maker I'd got from the white elephant gift exchange for Christmas and ate them on the balcony.
Not to bad for a first attempt
On Sunday, we decided it was time to go back outside again and went to San Diego, specifically to the Fleet Science Centre. It's a very interactive science museum in Balboa Park and has a lot of buttons to press.

They had an exhibit about the development of electricity with lots of cables and electromagnetic coils which all lit up and made sparks. They also had an exhibit about data collection online which was fun. The idea was that as you went around and interacted with all of the stations, they collected information about you using facial recognition software and presented you with a complete profile of what data they now had on you. It was cool to see how much they could achieve, but unfortunately, wearing masks meant that it didn't quite work as intended and the end result wasn't as good as it was meant to be.
It me!
The whole place was filled with small things like optical illusions and weird things like a whole tornado!
We had a fun day out, but were obviously still feeling the effects of the booster shot because when we got back at about 4:30 we were completely exhausted!
We feel better this week and are off this weekend spending our Christmas money on something very exciting!
Lots of Love,
Your favourite Emily and Mitchell
